i get so lost in browsing the internet. it is like my creative mecca. i keep finding these great creative outlets, blogs, websites, and one thing turns into another and i have been browsing for 45 minutes. it overwhelms my thinker. i do come across some amazing finds.  here are some of them.

home depot is making it easier for you to make eco-friendly choices when you shop for your home.  they have created this great web page so that you can find out about products that make a difference.  You can learn where to dispose of your energy saving light bulbs, best way to be energy efficient, water conservation, and more.  you can even do a home efficiency audit to see where your household stands.  its worth the time to check it out.  even if you do one thing it will make a difference.

nooooo...that's not my new pet name for you.  its this wonderful amazing product line by ORE'.

she has amazing products that she designs for you as well as your tots. she has home organizational items, pet products, and of course the sugar booger line for tots.

 

these trays are one of my new faves. it makes dinner time easy, and the food doesn't touch. (very important in my household!) You get the food tray, 6-ounce cup, fork and spoon. All items are non-toxic, post-industrial recycled melamine in their construction. the material that they use gives each tray set a one of a kind look! they are dishwasher safe but are not made for microwave use. (but you shouldn't be putting plastic in microwaves anyways!) ORE' states that "re-using a common material such as melamine that would otherwise be destined for landfill is a plus for the environmentally conscious and it's just plain good for the planet."

today a friend of mine sent me an email about children's medicine recall.  i checked the products that i have in the cabinet and ALL 3 (Benadryl, Infants Motrin, & Infants Tylenol) were on the recall list!!

i know for the babes is probably the last blog yer reading right now.  good thing, because i can tell you where to get all the great stuff for you and any kid you know before it all ends. its good that im here, because these items are things that you wouldn't know about if it wasn't for the internet!  too bad these electrical storms are taking that away from us!   aggghhh... i better write quick!


1. make sure you have tons of paper, because without the internet, email, and the web, you will be wanting to share all your experiences on paper.

2. ok. now you want to make sure you label everything before the lights go out!  these handy labels will make it easier to find what you are looking for!

ok. ok. this might be a shameless plug...but i have made some freebee valentine cards for you from my design company,  Bee Invited & Co. {Invitation + Notecards}.  

all you have to do is click on the picture, print the cards, cut, and give.  its simple enough and F R E E.

heart-shaped empanadas.

a recipe for you and your family curtsey of parents connect. perfect for a valentine's day meal.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 package refrigerated pie crusts, for 2 9-inch pies
• 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 small potatoes, peeled and diced
• 2 carrots, peeled and shredded
• 1 package taco seasoning
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 egg, beaten 
• Salsa (optional) 

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Unroll pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface and, using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out as many hearts as you can fit.

3. Brown ground beef or turkey in a large pan over medium-high heat. 

4. Remove meat from pan and add onions and potatoes. 

5. Cook until potatoes are tender and brown. 

6. Return meat to pan and stir in carrots and taco seasoning. 

7. Remove from heat

8. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of meat mixture onto the center of a pie crust heart. Sprinkle a little cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture. 

 

9. Top with another heart and seal the edges with the tines of a fork. Place empanada on an ungreased baking sheet. 

10. Repeat with remaining hearts. 

11.  Use a knife to cut a few small slits in the top of each of the hearts. 

12.  Lightly brush each empanada with beaten egg. 

13. Bake empanadas for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. 

14. Remove from oven and serve with salsa, if desired.
