i know for the babes is probably the last blog yer reading right now.  good thing, because i can tell you where to get all the great stuff for you and any kid you know before it all ends. its good that im here, because these items are things that you wouldn't know about if it wasn't for the internet!  too bad these electrical storms are taking that away from us!   aggghhh... i better write quick!


1. make sure you have tons of paper, because without the internet, email, and the web, you will be wanting to share all your experiences on paper.

i found this cute stationery from MABELS LABELS that will be perfect for your tot to write the aunts, uncles, grandparents, bff's! 

2. ok. now you want to make sure you label everything before the lights go out!  these handy labels will make it easier to find what you are looking for!

3.  ok, for real.  this storm is getting out of control.  not only the lights are out, but the wind is picking up big time. i thought that maybe you could get these adorable lables also by MABELS LABELS to sew in yer tots clothes, in case their jacket or shirt, or whatever gets blown away!

my holey donuts arrived. can u hear the angels sing?

ok ok. lets just talk about HOLEY DONUTS for a minute.  mine just came in the mail and they are absolutely amazing!  i took one bite, and definitely cant tell that these donuts are low in fat and low in calories! so i decided you needed a play by play...

a freebee valentine for you.

ok. ok. this might be a shameless plug...but i have made some freebee valentine cards for you from my design company,  Bee Invited & Co. {Invitation + Notecards}.  

all you have to do is click on the picture, print the cards, cut, and give.  its simple enough and F R E E.

heart-shaped empanadas.

a recipe for you and your family curtsey of parents connect. perfect for a valentine's day meal.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 package refrigerated pie crusts, for 2 9-inch pies
• 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 small potatoes, peeled and diced
• 2 carrots, peeled and shredded
• 1 package taco seasoning
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 egg, beaten 
• Salsa (optional) 

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Unroll pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface and, using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out as many hearts as you can fit.

3. Brown ground beef or turkey in a large pan over medium-high heat. 

4. Remove meat from pan and add onions and potatoes. 

5. Cook until potatoes are tender and brown. 

6. Return meat to pan and stir in carrots and taco seasoning. 

7. Remove from heat

8. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of meat mixture onto the center of a pie crust heart. Sprinkle a little cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture. 

 

9. Top with another heart and seal the edges with the tines of a fork. Place empanada on an ungreased baking sheet. 

10. Repeat with remaining hearts. 

11.  Use a knife to cut a few small slits in the top of each of the hearts. 

12.  Lightly brush each empanada with beaten egg. 

13. Bake empanadas for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. 

14. Remove from oven and serve with salsa, if desired.

W E L C O M E   2 0 1 0. I hope you had a grand holiday season! It was so nice to visit with family, as well as getting to see our lil' tot really have her first Santa Clause.

She was so excited! I took a break from blogging during the holidays to spend quality time with the fam, but I'm back in full force. I have been working on making this blog more efficient and better on the eyeballs ...for you... my loyal followers. My vow is to keep the updates coming more frequently for you.

My little hands have also been working hard at   D E S I G N I N G   for my custom invitation business called BEE  INVITED & Co. Its been really fun designing and getting to be creative in my spare time.
